We’re Back!
We’re back, Fellow Creatures!
Or maybe I should say I’m back. I don’t think Casco ever really went anywhere. He’s always lurking about Elsewhere looking for treats and adventure.
But I have returned after another unplanned hiatus to be more consistent on this blog once (and in my writing habits).
Where have I been, you ask?
Busy with life changes like switching out my day job for a new one. I know, I know, I’m sad to say it’s not making the switch to full-time authorship yet either, instead, I made the extremely difficult decision to leave my current organization and the people I love within it to pursue a new challenge, one that i’m hopeful is my next step towards realizing that dream, of being able to sling books full-time.
Alas, I’m not quite there yet, and in the meantime, I’m trying to pursue growth at a new organization that offers a different venue and new problems to solve.
But with that change comes stress. Lots and lots of stress! Unfortunately, during that time, my writing has fallen to the wayside and I’ve had to step away from Elsewhere for a while unti I got my bearings on this new part of the journey.
However, I’m starting to feel like I’ve found them. I am hopefully settling into the new role, and while there’s still health issues to navigate in the Hall household (the illnesses have run rampant this year!) I’ve felt settled enough to return to a more consistent schedule of writing and posting here.
Which means I’ve been back to work on Sin of the Scarred, book 3 of the Scarred World saga. While I haven’t made fantastic strides since my last update, I’ve added about 10k words to the text and have eclipsed the 30k mark.
Huzzah!
I know this is paltry to some authors’ writing output, but it’s a step back in the right direction for me. Momentum has been found, and I beg the gods and goddesses to allow me to continue with this streak.
Time will tell.
Other than that, we’ve been busy with sports. The boys both completed their basketball seasons and are now looking onto spring soccer and baseball, which means tons of time spent down at the local fields for Casco and I (and Mrs. Elsewhere.)
It’ll be busy, yes, but it’s the right type of busy where the hours fly by as we get to watch the dudes enjoy time outside with their friends and learn some major skillllzzz… or something like that.
Speaking of, it’s about time for practice as I write this! Gotta run, Fellow Creatures! I’ll be back really soon for more updates and maybe to give you a gander at what’s happening in Sin of the Scarred.
Until then,
Stay solid (or liquid or gaseous if you prefer),
