The Next Step Has Begun

The next step into Moonsland has begun.   Last week, something happened that I've been working toward for years.   I sent the Scarred World Saga to its first readers.   Earlier this month I sent out my call for beta readers, meaning books 1-3 plus the prequel are ready for others to get their paws all over them.   A major milestone that I’ve been working towards for over a year now.   And what a surreal one to reach.   It only seemed like yesterday I was sitting in front of a blank piece of paper, pen in hand (as I often like to do when it comes down to planning and getting my thoughts out there), and wondering where Elsewhere would take...

It is Done!

It is done, Fellow Creatures.   Draft 1 of book 4 of the Scarred World Saga, the final installment of the series, has been completed at just over 130k words.   Hot dang, it feels good to say that.   I’ve been working on this series for a better part of two years, with a good chunk of time in between, and yet here we are, at a milestone that more often than not fell out of reach.   Yet, here we are. Progress Report!

Hail, Fellow Creatures! Casco and I are coming at you from Elsewhere with another round of progress updates. As of writing this, I’ve just crossed 120k words on Book 4, and I’ve finished my first round of edits on Book 2.   Two big milestones!   While it’s not release time for either, it *is* a step in the right direction—and one that’s getting me closer and closer to the finish line.   At this point, I think I’ve still got another 10–20k words to go to finish off Book 4, which means I’m hopeful Draft 1 will be done sometime in February.   Likewise, I want to take another pass at Book 2 and polish it up properly before starting to...

Happy New Year, Fellow Creature!    Can’t believe that we’re already into 2026. 2025 went by both fast and slow at the same time, where delightful periods where it felt like it was crawling, and then other times where it went by in a blink.    As I’ve mentioned in my newsletter, 2025 was the year of building. ‘Tis the Season!

Greetings, Fellow Creatures!   Casco and I hope this post finds you well, and we hope your December is off and galloping like a herd of reindeer in a hurry.   The big man is on his way, after all.   At the Elsewhere household, excitement is high! November Magic!

A Quick Update!

Update time, Fellow Creatures.   I've been plugging away at it for a bit now, tarrying on a variety of projects, pushing things behind the scenes to what I would call success, though it's hard to call it such without a physical copy to put in someone's hand.   Yet, with each 1000 words down, or editing session complete, it feels like I'm making my way to a finish line where, at the end, it means some actual stories will get out there!   As of writing this post, I'm at 60k words in Scorn of the Scarred, book 4 of the Saga. Book 4 Has A Name

Howdy, howdy, Fellow Creatures!    As always, hope all is good in your woods, and the critters that lurk in your part of Elsewhere are behaving themselves (or not, if you prefer your woodland creatures to be rambunctious.)   Just stopping in for a quick update on progress!    First of all, as I mentioned in my last post, Book 3 of the Scarred World Saga is done, and as of writing this, I am about 20k into the 4th and final installment.     Progress is going well. It Is Done!

Hail, Fellow Creatures!   I hope all is good in your woods on this July day. It’s been a bit since I’ve posted an update here, but that’s because Casco and I have been knee-deep in the Scarred World Saga, exploring Moonsland and beyond.   Where has it led us?   To the end of book 3!    As of last week, I’ve officially written The End in Sins of the Scarred, putting the finishing touches on draft 1 with the total word count ending up at just under 110k, a volume I’m certain will expand as I go back and rewrite scenes.   But dang, it feels good to get to that milestone.   After months of being in the depths of Requiem and...
