Progress Report!

Hail, Fellow Creatures! Casco and I are coming at you from Elsewhere with another round of progress updates. As of writing this, I’ve just crossed 120k words on Book 4, and I’ve finished my first round of edits on Book 2.   Two big milestones!   While it’s not release time for either, it *is* a step in the right direction—and one that’s getting me closer and closer to the finish line.   At this point, I think I’ve still got another 10–20k words to go to finish off Book 4, which means I’m hopeful Draft 1 will be done sometime in February.   Likewise, I want to take another pass at Book 2 and polish it up properly before starting to...

‘Tis the Season!

Greetings, Fellow Creatures!   Casco and I hope this post finds you well, and we hope your December is off and galloping like a herd of reindeer in a hurry.   The big man is on his way, after all.   At the Elsewhere household, excitement is high! The boys (and Casco) anxiously await x-mas morning and are raring to see what’s beneath the tree.   What unfortunately will not be there, but will hopefully be there soon (and not that these books are age-appropriate for them at this time), is the finalized series of the Scarred World Saga.   However, I’m happy to report that I’m making great progress. As of writing this, I am 90k words completed, with somewhere around 20-30k...

November Magic!

Fellow Creatures,   I come to you with another update on the progress!    I am happy to report that as of writing this, I’ve just crossed the 75k mark on book 4 of the Scarred World Saga, Scorn of the Scarred.   Which means the gap between not having these books out there and them actually getting published is narrowing!    I’d say that in about another month or two, you should start to see some real timelines being put on the books for these releases.    So stay tuned, and thanks for coming along for so long on the journey.   What else has been happening around these parts of Elsewhere?   Well, basketball season for one.   Both boys are donning their high-tops and hitting the...

A Quick Update!

Update time, Fellow Creatures.   I've been plugging away at it for a bit now, tarrying on a variety of projects, pushing things behind the scenes to what I would call success, though it's hard to call it such without a physical copy to put in someone's hand.   Yet, with each 1000 words down, or editing session complete, it feels like I'm making my way to a finish line where, at the end, it means some actual stories will get out there!   As of writing this post, I'm at 60k words in Scorn of the Scarred, book 4 of the Saga. My guess, this is about halfway done with the book, which means I can see the...

Book 4 Has A Name

Howdy, howdy, Fellow Creatures!    As always, hope all is good in your woods, and the critters that lurk in your part of Elsewhere are behaving themselves (or not, if you prefer your woodland creatures to be rambunctious.)   Just stopping in for a quick update on progress!    First of all, as I mentioned in my last post, Book 3 of the Scarred World Saga is done, and as of writing this, I am about 20k into the 4th and final installment.     Progress is going well. I’ve been able to maintain a decent clip, and despite the occasional hiccup in discipline or hitting of a dreaded block in the story, it goes on and on.   While I don’t have an...

Interested in Beta Reading? Don’t Be Shy!

Howdy, Fellow Creatures!   I hope this message from Elsewhere finds you splendid. Casco and I are just starting in the throes of the springtime heat now that all the rain and dreariness seem to have subsided here in New England.   I think Casco prefers the rain. Too hot for a long-haired pup like him in Elsewhere.   Fear not, we’ll be doing our best by trying to keep him cool by wading in nearby waters whenever we can. A stinky, wet pup is still better than a panting, hot one.   Besides trying to keep up with the weather (...

Book 3 has Begun and It Has a Name…

The adventure has begun.    If you read my blog from last time then you know I was nearing my second pass of edits on book 2 of the Scarred World Saga, Stone of the Scarred.   Well, I’m happy to say that as of writing this I’m officially off and running on book 3. About 10k words in to be exact.   And guess what? Book 3 officially has a name.   Sin of the Scarred.   In keeping with the whole S of the Scarred them I’ve got going on here, I landed on this being the a good place to be, as it should focus much more on Requiem, his past, and the Scarred’s history.   I so desperately want to share...

Under a God-Made Mountain is Out NOW!

Hot dang, Fellow Creatures!   It’s here. Launch day.    Under a God-Made Mountain is officially out and available on ebook, KU, paperback, and hardcover formats!    So click away and get ye some strange, horror-fantasy if you haven’t done so already.     Early beta readers and reviewers are calling it “a fast-paced odyssey into the darkness.”    So if you want in, you know what to do.    If you’ve been following along on this blog then you know I’ve talked about this book for close to a year now, so not sure how much I can say about it, other than I am really happy to put it in your hands finally.   It was a joy to write and got me back into the...

There’s still time!

To enter the contest I mentioned in my blog 2 weeks ago.    November 21st is in 6 days, but you can still enter to win a free, signed copy of Under a God-Made Mountain if you send a message to hallwaytoelsewhere@gmail.com with the subject line “Take me to the mountain” and your name and address in the body of the email.   I’ll choose one random winner and send it their way as a big thank you for following me into Elsewhere and joining this journey into the mountain.   As mentioned in the previous blog, I need to limit this contest to folks with a U.S. address due to the crazy shipping costs these days, but if...

What’s that in the distance? A contest?!

Ahoy, Fellow Creatures!    I hope all is swell in thy dell and you are surviving and thriving in your neck of Elsewhere.    Hard to believe that it’s November 1st, which means there are 3 weeks to go until Under a God-Made Mountain is officially put out into the wild.   Oy! My head is spinning a bit as it does with most releases. So much to do from a marketing standpoint and so much hope and emotion around it too.   Will it be perceived well? How’s the blurb? How else can I get the word out?   That’s just a smattering of thoughts constantly running through my noggin as we lead to release day.   So what can I do to help...
