A Call for Beta Readers

Hey there, FCs!    Hope all is good in the wood.     Coming at you for a request. Do you wanna be my beta reader?   For those who may have been following along in Elsewhere, you’ve probably seen me post a little about my standalone novel that I have tentatively titled, Under a God-Made Mountain.     Well, it’s been sitting in draft for long enough and it’s time I start making some progress on getting it out into the world. But that doesn’t start without getting a few sets of eyes on it.    Those eyes can belong to you!    I need a few folks to read it and give me their honest opinion on what’s working for them and what’s not so...

Shadow of the Dragod is OUT!

Shadow of the Dragod is officially out on both Ebook and Kindle!  It's here! Run like a giant dragon is chasing you to tell a friend, write a review, or give it a read (so long as you’re into YA dystopian fantasy.)    As mentioned in my most recent email, it’s been a while since I’ve published anything new so I am both excited, nervous, and pretty darn tired.  This one has been years in the making, but after many stops and starts, and a couple rewrites, the day has come to release it into the world.     Here’s the blurb if you haven’t glanced at it yet:   A world consumed by fire. A boy with a mysterious power. A...

Writing Update

Howdy howdy, Fellow Creatures!   Hope all is good in the woods.  I wanted to stop by here and give you all some updates on where things stand throughout my writing journey.   All in all, I’ve been busy, juggling a few different projects at once. Let’s just say, that they’re all moving forward in one way or another and I am excited to get them out there.    I hope you’re excited to read them!   But enough with the preamble… Let me tell you where I’m at.   Shadow of the Dragod I’ve just finished reviewing the edits suggested by my wonderful editor, Tamara Blain. As always, she provided some wonderful thoughts on how to tighten up my sentences and make them...

Onto The Next One

I’ve started.   I’ve heard from some of you about the lack of me finishing what I started… aka getting idea happy and bolting over to the next shiny thing.    Guilty.   I’ve found it challenging to stay in the same world for an extended time when there’s so much else I want to explore, especially when that hit of joy is at its highest during the creation period.  It’s hard to stay away from that seductive juice when you know it’s right around the corner.   But that’s not fair to the readers.   I think we all know someone who has been burned by authors who don’t follow through on specific series or are derailed by some other side project....

Something New

Howdy, Fellow Creautres. Hope all is good in the woods.    Remember a few weeks back when I said I had some other things in the work? Well, turns out it’s a book.   No, not the Shadow of the Dragod that i mentioned, or Stone of the Scarred, or even a new Chilongua story.    It’s a stand alone novel. One I wrote directly after I finished Shadow of the Dragon.   Did I mention I have a problem with staying put for too long?    This one is set in a new world, and was a story I couldn’t help but write when the spark of its start came to me.   I’m using the working title called, Under a God Made Mountain,...

Looking Down the Hallway

What’s that in the distance? An actual new book! I thought those things had gone extinct a couple years back?   So did I.    But I’ve been busy getting familiar with the blank page again and returning to dusty manuscripts that needed a hard shaking, some polish, and some air-drying for good measure.   What does that even mean?   It means, that I finally finished Shadow of the Dragod, Book 1 of the Dragod Saga, a brand-new series set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy universe that I like to equate to the Dark Sun universe created for D&D many moons ago.     I know, I know. You’re probably asking yourself how the heck I could start a new series when there’s only...
