November Magic!
Fellow Creatures,
I come to you with another update on the progress!
I am happy to report that as of writing this, I’ve just crossed the 75k mark on book 4 of the Scarred World Saga, Scorn of the Scarred.
Which means the gap between not having these books out there and them actually getting published is narrowing!
I’d say that in about another month or two, you should start to see some real timelines being put on the books for these releases.
So stay tuned, and thanks for coming along for so long on the journey.
What else has been happening around these parts of Elsewhere?
Well, basketball season for one.
Both boys are donning their high-tops and hitting the hardwood, which means we’ve been I’ll be throwing on the (proverbial) coaching hat.
I think we’re all excited for it! As I’ve said before on this blog and in the newsletter, it’s a game near and dear to both my wife and I’s heart, so being able to share it with my boys is special. We just keep hoping we can foster a love of the game that can carry them beyond elementary school and into adult life as I truly believe it’s one of the best activities you can do from a health and community standpoint (there’s always pick up somewhere nearby!)
It also means we’ll be darting around New England, seeing some sites we normally wouldn’t (and basketball courts), and enjoying some time on the road.
Other than that, I’m doing my best to stay active in Art Quest. With a push to finish the Scarred World Saga, doing some super secret side projects, and trying to keep up with the kiddos and Casco, it’s been a little difficult to get to.
As of writing this, I have just about 5 heads left to draw in the 100-head challenge from Ahmed Aldoori. Although I’ve been working through this challenge for a much longer time than the 10 days Aldoori suggests going through, I’m making progress and am hopeful I can move on to the next part of the curriculum: parts 4-7 of Draw-a-Box.
At this pace, I’ll get there in a couple of weeks. Better late than never, I suppose.
I have a dream to eventually be able to spend half the day writing, and half the day drawing, which I think I’ll get to eventually, but for now, writing continues to take precedence.
Some day I’ll get to be like Jakub Rozalski or Frank Frazetta, for now, though, I’ll have to settle ofr the baby steps I’m able to take in the meantime.
Again, I’m hopeful I’ll have more to share with you very soon. The process continues. In the meantime, I hope you’ll reach out to Casco and me and say hello.
The shadows of Elsewhere can be lonely places, and any word from Fellow Creatures in the darkness is always appreciated!
Until next time, stay locked in here or sign up for the Newsletter and hear from me 3 times a month!
Thanks again for following along on the journey.
Stay sugary,
-Jeff
