125k Words Down!

125k words done.   It feels good to write that sentence. While there are still a couple more thousand to go in Stone of the Scarred, book 2 of the Scarred World Saga, knowing I’m nearing the end does wonders for momentum.   If you subscribe to the Elsewhere emails then you already heard my update at 100k, which felt awesome, but now that I’m at 125k, It feels like quite a relief.   At the start of every project, it feels like you’ll never get to the end. Art Quest Update 5-1-24

Trying to keep that pencil moving.   That’s the name of the game right now. Of all the various art teachers I’ve come across, that seems to be one of the most common pieces of advice.   Practice as much as you can.    As Art Quest continues, I try to do just that. Art Quest Update 3-15-24

Art quest continues, albeit slower than I would like. In my dream work day, I would spend half the day writing and then the 2nd half of the day working on art, but alas, as it currently is, I’m doing both on the margins of most mornings and nights.    However, progress is still going and I’m excited about what I’ve been able to do.   Mostly my concentration has continued on figure and form still, trying to perfect gesture as much as I can before moving on to more complex topics.    I’ve done dozens and dozens of model studies from reference photos at this point (and even some of my family as they sit down on the...

Getting Back To It!

I’m back (if you even knew I left at all.)    Like I said in one of my last blogs, I needed a little recharge after going hard to get Shadow of the Dragod out, finishing my yet-to-be-released standalone novel, standing up a new website, and starting up Stone of the Scarred.  I was feeling burnt out, and as I learned in past stretches, there’s only one way for me to cure that feeling.   Take a break.   So I decided to take a few months to try to get back to neutral. Hiatus Update

Howdy there, Fellow Creatures!    It's been a little while since I've said anything on this page and that's because I've been on a scheduled break.   After the release of Shadow of the Dragod, finishing my unreleased, stand-alone novel, Under a God-Made Mountain, starting Stone of the Scarred, and getting this new website off the ground, I needed a bit of a hiatus to regroup and recharge.    I'm happy to say I've been doing that, focusing on my family, health, and having a little bit of fun.
