Hey there, Fellow Creatures! After a couple of months' hiatus as previously mentioned, I am easing my way back into writing and updating you all on my progress. What have I been up to during break? Getting acclimated to having the new pup, coaching the kiddos’ basketball teams, and playing a helluva lot of Baldur’s Gate 3 (which I can happily report has lived up to the hype and more)...

Howdy there, Fellow Creatures! It's been a little while since I've said anything on this page and that's because I've been on a scheduled break. After the release of Shadow of the Dragod, finishing my unreleased, stand-alone novel, Under a God-Made Mountain, starting Stone of the Scarred, and getting this new website off the ground, I needed a bit of a hiatus to regroup and recharge. I'm happy to say I've been doing that, focusing on my family, health, and having a little bit of fun. Baldur’s Gate 3, Blue-Eye Samurai, Scavengers Reign, hiking with Casco, coaching my boys’ basketball teams, planning a 2024 trip with Mrs. Elsewhere… It's been a good little break to reenergize and...

Shadow of the Dragod is officially out on both Ebook and Kindle! It's here! Run like a giant dragon is chasing you to tell a friend, write a review, or give it a read (so long as you’re into YA dystopian fantasy.) As mentioned in my most recent email, it’s been a while since I’ve published anything new so I am both excited, nervous, and pretty darn tired. This one has been years in the making, but after many stops and starts, and a couple rewrites, the day has come to release it into the world. Here’s the blurb if you haven’t glanced at it yet: A world consumed by fire. A boy with a mysterious power. A...

Ahoy there, Fellow Creatures! Apologies for the gimmicky title, but it's true. I have an exciting pledge to announce. With Shadow of the Dragod coming out on November 7th and to add a little extra push to generate some reviews for the book (which always go along way to helping with indie publishing), I am partnering with Ride 4 Claire, a foundation that donates directly to Boston Children’s Hospital’s fight against childhood cancer. This near and dear organization has helped my niece tremendously in her battle with retinoblastoma and continues to be on the cutting edge of new treatments that will greatly help more kids with cancers like hers. As part of this partnership, I’ve pledged...

There’s a new addition to the family. No, it’s not a new book (not yet, anyway. Shadow of the Dragod’s official release is Nov 7th! Coming soon!) It’s a terrible, horrendous, vicious beast of the frigid North! Meet Casco, my desk familiar, magical companion, foot warmer, and destroyer-of-my-things. Named after a town in Maine my family has spent my entire 40 years of life going to over the Summer, we brought home this fluffy wonder a couple weeks ago, and my oh my, it’s been something. I grew up with a dog. Got a yellow labrador puppy when I was around 8. I don’t remember much about trying to train him or him being overly nippy...

I wish I was talking about some newfound discovery where there are beings who can cast spells and levitate objects with a blink of an eye. Unfortunately, as far as I know, that place has yet to be discovered. For now, we’ll have to settle for Disney World! Yeah, I know, some of you may be rolling your eyes at this as I feel like those parks get a pretty bad wrap for the price gouging, unreasonably long-waits, and the special treatment they get, which are rightful gripes about Mickey land, but it’s hard to argue against their ability to inspire and make you feel a little closer to magic. We were fortunate enough to take our...

To quote the immortal Chris Farley, “Holy Schnikes!” Shadow of the Dragod actually has a release date. After pouring sweat and tears over the calendar, trying to figure out how much time I need to actually market this bad larry, and estimating how many deep breaths I’ll need to take between now until the word “Published” is finally stamped on the book I have reached an official day when SOTD will be released into the world like the deranged, winged-beast of a book that it is… November 7th! Just in time for winter! So you can stay warm by reading through the pages of a world of leftover and still burning fire. Nice and cozy… kind...

Howdy howdy, Fellow Creatures! Hope all is good in the woods. I wanted to stop by here and give you all some updates on where things stand throughout my writing journey. All in all, I’ve been busy, juggling a few different projects at once. Let’s just say, that they’re all moving forward in one way or another and I am excited to get them out there. I hope you’re excited to read them! But enough with the preamble… Let me tell you where I’m at. Shadow of the Dragod I’ve just finished reviewing the edits suggested by my wonderful editor, Tamara Blain. As always, she provided some wonderful thoughts on how to tighten up my sentences and make them...

So I’ve been relatively consistent here, getting 30 minutes a day of drawing in alongside writing, family, and a full-time job. I decided to start here, perspective drawing, per Radio Runner’s curriculum, and I gotta be honest, I started here because I knew it was going to be the biggest slog. Drawing boxes, figuring out horizon lines and vanishing points, and working on drawing through… All important fundamentals I know I need to understand if I want to keep improving, yet still, I find myself rushing through this and making silly mistakes. Overshooting my lines. Not drawing from my shoulder. Not applying enough pressure to my pen so the lines come out faded… If anything it’s a...

I’ve started. I’ve heard from some of you about the lack of me finishing what I started… aka getting idea happy and bolting over to the next shiny thing. Guilty. I’ve found it challenging to stay in the same world for an extended time when there’s so much else I want to explore, especially when that hit of joy is at its highest during the creation period. It’s hard to stay away from that seductive juice when you know it’s right around the corner. But that’s not fair to the readers. I think we all know someone who has been burned by authors who don’t follow through on specific series or are derailed by some other side project....
